Glass globes are 4 inches wide and 5 inches tall.

Few things are as mysterious, complicated, and downright strange as the brain. This wrinkly lump of tissue is responsible for everything from your deepest thoughts to reminding you to breathe, which is probably for the best since you'd otherwise forget.

These sheep brain wet specimens offer a fascinating look at the organ responsible for making sense of the world around us. Interestingly, sheep brains share many anatomical similarities with our own, making them useful tools for studying neuroanatomy. While they may not be pondering the mysteries of the universe, sheep brains contain many of the same basic structures that allow us to think, feel, and interact with our surroundings.

Whether you're an anatomy enthusiast, a collector of biological oddities, or simply someone who thinks a brain in a jar would really tie the room together, these specimens are sure to get people thinking. Pun very much intended.

A Little About Wet Specimens

Wet specimens have been used for centuries to preserve biological material for scientific study. By submerging organic tissue in a preservative solution, decomposition is slowed or prevented, allowing delicate anatomical structures to be studied for years. From entire animals to individual organs, this preservation method has helped generations of scientists better understand the wonderfully bizarre machinery of life.

These particular sheep brains have been preserved in a 70% alcohol solution.
