Shipping

Please note: Some of these time frames may change due to the holidays, but we will do our best to get your order to you as soon as possible.

Our guaranteed ground shipping cutoff date for the holidays is 12/19.

After placing an order, we will ship it within 1-2 business days. Expedited orders will ship next business day.

We ship Monday - Friday between 9am and 5pm.

For example, if you place your order on Saturday, our shipping team will work to get it shipped on Monday. If the order is expedited, it is guaranteed to go out Monday.

If we are out of stock on an item, we will email you a notification before we ship the remainder of your order. Please check your inbox for a message from our shipment team if your order has not shipped within 2-3 business days of placing the order. This could also be located in your spam folder. If we don’t hear back from you within 10 business days we will refund the missing item and send the rest of the order. 

In an effort to be minimize waste Paxton Gate uses biodegradable packing materials and/or reuses shipping materials whenever possible.

Domestic Shipping

Shipping will usually be completed through USPS. We will ship the order within 2 to 3 business days of the order being placed and  typically takes 2 to 7 days to process through USPS. We typically ship from San Francisco so the closer you are, the sooner your order will arrive. Paxton Gate, at our discretion, may opt to use a different carrier than requested at no additional cost to you. If express shipping is needed please make that selection at checkout. We cannot ship to post office boxes.

Paxton Gate guarantees to meet our shipping promises in getting your package to the carrier but shipped items are considered F.O.B. and delays by the carrier or for other reasons beyond our control must be resolved between the purchaser and the carrier.

Plants by their nature are difficult to ship and on occasion breakage and leaf drop happens.  Minor damage to your plant, although distressing, will not kill it and is not reason for a return.  After unpacking your plant, clip off any leaves that are damaged beyond repair and water it.  If it's a high light plant you should slowly acclimate it to bright light over the period of a few days.  Having been in the dark for a few days it could burn if placed immediately in direct light.  We will advise as to whether a different shipping method and possibly additional fees are required for plants that you have selected. Oversized Shipping

Oversized items are only available for pick-up or if you arrange the shipping yourself. This will be indicated in the item description. However, we do have a very reliable and affordable option for shipping. For more information, please click here. We can also work with a shipping provider of your choosing. 

Paxton Gate (PG) isn’t able to offer pricing, at the time of purchase, for shipping
Taxidermy.

Trophy Transport (TT) typically costs about half of other shippers who require crating. Their fees for large taxidermy usually run between $400 for medium sized pieces and up to $900 for very large pieces. PG can’t guarantee these prices. They will offer a quote before picking up your piece.

  • Customer contacts TT to get a quote and arranges shipment.
  • PG will work as the “agent” for the owner and is happy to offer measurements, approximate weight, etc. to facilitate the shipment.
  • TT will not come into the City and PG therefore must take your piece to them in an industrial zone. For this we must charge a shuttle fee.
  • Items that can fit in a car, or even a U-Haul pickup, and can be handled by one person, bear a charge of $75.
  • Larger items, that need are larger vehicle and/or two people require a $125 shuttle fee.

Even with these fees we’ve found the total cost to be less than the alternative. The customer is welcome to arrange their own shuttle from PG to the drop off location with TT. Please note that TT keeps their costs low by planning routes across and around the entire U.S. and therefore it could take several weeks before they pick up your piece.

Trophy Transport

All other options require crating and are usually about double the cost of TT. That said, most of them—this should be confirmed before setting up a shipment—do not require our shuttle service. They also tend to be notably faster than TT.

  • Customer contacts freight company to get a quote for building the crate and shipping the goods.
  • PG will work as the “agent” for the owner and is happy to offer measurements, approximate weight, etc. to facilitate the shipment.
  • We will be listed as the contact for pick up.

Freight company picks up and crates at PG and delivers to the customer. If PG shuttle service is needed and the delivery address is within SF, the fees above apply. If further away, PG will quote a price. Below is one option for crating and shipping services
