About The Beetle:
The Prosopocoilus astacoides, commonly known as the Red Stag Beetle, is a magnificent species native to Southeast and South Asia, displaying a rich mahogany to deep red coloration. Males feature impressive mandibles that can span up to 90mm (≈3.5 in), which they use during competitive mating displays. These captivating beetles thrive on tree sap and overripe fruits in their natural habitat, where they play a vital role in forest ecosystem health through their wood decomposition activities.
