About Raccoons

Raccoons, also known as “trash pandas,” are the smaller cousins of bears. They’re originally from North and South America but now live in parts of Asia and Europe too. These little survivors can make themselves at home just about anywhere—from a cozy hollow tree to an abandoned car. Their hands look a lot like ours, with five fingers perfect for grabbing food, opening shells, prying open doors, or rummaging through trash cans. They even like to dunk their food in water before eating it—not to clean it, but because water makes their super-sensitive hands even more sensitive, so they can “inspect” their snacks first.
