In ancient China, bats are considered symbols of good fortune and happiness, while in some Native American legends, they represent intuition and adaptability. Conversely, in Western folklore, bats are often associated with darkness, witchcraft, and vampires, symbolizing fear and the unknown. Their mysterious presence in the night has inspired awe and superstition throughout history.

Aside from their cultural significance, bats are also extremely interesting creatures. They are the only mammals capable of flight and make up one-quarter of all mammal species on the planet. Bats play a vital role in controlling insect populations. In one cave in Texas alone, it's estimated that the 20 million Mexican free-tailed bats living there eat about 200 tons of insects each night. Think of the money saved on cortisone cream!
