This is the Hummingbird Bobtail Squid, also called Berry’s Bobtail Squid. Preserved in resin, this fascinating little specimen gives a close-up look at squid anatomy. Squid have two long tentacles and eight arms. The tentacles grab prey while the arms hold it and guide it to the central beak, which slices the food into bite-sized pieces. They are agile swimmers that use jet propulsion to move quickly and rely on sharp eyesight to hunt. This piece makes a unique addition to any collection or a great educational tool.

As with all specimens in Lucite, size, color, and positioning may vary slightly. The real squid in resin measures approximately 2 3/4 inches tall by 1 1/2 inches wide.
