The Mantis Shrimp (Oratosquilla oratoria) is one of the coolest creatures under the sea. Every tiny detail of this real shrimp can be studied up close from any angle.

This species lives in the Western Pacific and is widely harvested in Japan for food. Lately, it has popped up in other places like Australia, where it’s considered an invasive species. It gets its name from the long, powerful front “mantis-like arms” it uses to catch invertebrates and small fish.

As with all natural specimens in resin, size, shape, and color may vary slightly. You’re getting a quality specimen in a Lucite block that measures about 5 1/2 inches tall, 2 1/2 inches wide, and 3/4 of an inch thick.

All orders ship same or next business day with exception to oversized items. Those items will be identified in the description (Items such as large taxidermy, skulls or exceedingly heavy minerals).

If the subtotal of your order is over $98 the shipping is free (the discount is applied automatically to the cart at checkout)

If there is an issue with your order or something arrives damaged, we will refund or replace the item.

Oversized items are only available for pick-up or if you arrange the shipping yourself. This will be indicated in the item description. However, we do have a very reliable and affordable option for shipping. For more information, please click here. We can also work with a shipping provider of your choosing.
