Papilio blumei, also known as the Peacock Swallowtail, is proof that Mother Nature has a flair for the dramatic. Found exclusively on the Indonesian island of Sulawesi, this stunning butterfly is famous for its shimmering emerald-green wings and iridescent markings.

Surprisingly, much of that brilliant color isn't pigment at all. Microscopic structures on its wings manipulate light to create a dazzling metallic effect. Apparently, nature invented special effects long before Hollywood.

All Insects vary in size and shape. You will receive a high quality specimen of the selected item but not the exact one pictured. All insects are guaranteed to be top quality and sourced from ethical vendors from around the world.
