Zebra Calcite, also called Raw Phantom Calcite, is a some-what newcomer to the world of calcite. It’s formed from a combination of calcium carbonate minerals including black calcite, white calcite, and orange calcite. These unique crystals occur when sand and other "phantom" minerals fill spaces in between the calcium carbonate. The results are the unique and stunning “zebra” stripes which form on and within the crystal itself. While calcium carbonates may be a ubiquitous mineral, zebra calcite is a unique variation that has only been found in Mexico over the last few years. It gets its name from the banding patterns throughout the stone which, as you may have guessed, look very similar to the stripes of a Zebra. Some get it confused with the stone Zebra Stone (from Western Australia) but really their similarities stop at the naming. We are extremely excited to add these beautiful specimens to our collection and from me (the writer of this copy), these are definitely on my Top 3 Favorite Items list from this year's Tucson haul. Each of the variants here stands out as a unique example of zebra calcite and if you’re looking for a new center piece for your own mineral collection, this is a great option.

According to Metaphysics: Zebra Calcite is believed to promote cleansing, balance, and encourage positivity. It has been said to rid any environment of chaotic and unsettled energies. Many believe it is a balancing stone that amplifies positive energy. It is also regarded as a crystal with supportive qualities that can help in confronting fears, dispelling doubt, and soothing uncertainty. Because of its amplification of positive energies, it has been associated with the potential to enhance one’s self-esteem, boost confidence, and nurture a sense of inner courage. Additionally, it is said to facilitate the acknowledgment of our interconnectedness and promote a profound sense of belonging.

Each of these specimens are a unique, one of a kind, crystal. Once the item is sold, we will not be about to acquire an exact replacement. All Paxton Gate specimens are guaranteed to be of the highest quality; sourced from ethical vendors and private collectors around the world.
