The shell of this sea snail resembles the sun and is popular amongst collectors. The spines on the edge of its shell are thought to be useful to prevent it from flipping over. They are known to detach old spines while growing. Its scientific name yoka means good in the Kyushu dialect of Japanese. It inhabits silt floors at depths from 200 to 500 meters.
