About the Artist artist Susan Brownlie:
Susan creates unique individually hand-crafted display frames and heirloom-worthy glass display domes with insects and taxidermied bats, skeletons and skulls, comined with minerals and crystals, grapewood and lichen covered twigs, peacock feathers, dried, preserved flowers and reindeer moss. She also creates shadowbox frames with jaquard and damask fabric backgrounds; silver, brass and black filigree stampings, and dried preserved flowers.
Collecting Butterflies is as relaxing as they are beautiful. A butterfly is a mainly day-flying insect of the order Lepidoptera. Due to their bright colors and visits to flowers, butterflies are the most familiar of insects to humans. There are about 17,500 species of butterflies in the world. That's a lot of beautiful to admire.
Ethical sourcing is our number one priority. All of our taxidermy, skulls, bones, sea life and other natural science specimens have met our rigorous standards. See our "about us" section for more information or contact us with specific question.
