Ruby Zoisite is a fascinating stone formed from a combination of ruby and zoisite crystals in a single specimen (hence the name). It is also known as 'anyolite,' a term derived from the Masai word for 'green,' and it has other names like "ruby-in-zoisite" and "Tanganyika artstone." This unique stone was first discovered in 1949 near the Kilimanjaro Mountains in Tanzania's Longido mining district. To this day, it remains the world’s sole source of ruby-in-zoisite, found in small pockets, which makes it even more valuable due to its limited availability. Typically, Ruby Zoisite is a blend of three colors: green, black, and pinkish red. The green comes from the zoisite, the pink and red hues are from the ruby (corundum), and the black coloration is due to the presence of hornblende. This striking mix of minerals and colors makes it a stunning and highly sought-after stone for collectors.
In metaphysical terms, Ruby Zoisite is believed to have a powerful spiritual nature that connects one to their soul memory. Many regard it as a spiritual stone that helps rekindle one's spiritual self. With its blend of minerals, it combines several metaphysical properties. Ruby is known as the stone of courage and strength, alleviating fear and anxiety we encounter in daily life. Green Zoisite promotes harmony, growth, and fertility. Together, these properties make Ruby Zoisite an excellent meditation tool and a highly valued stone for those seeking a deeper connection with their subconscious.
