Selenite, also known as satin spar, desert rose, or gypsum flower, represents four crystal structure varieties of the mineral gypsum. These varieties can be grouped together under the name “selenite.” The word “selenite” comes from the Greek goddess Selene, the goddess of the moon, which is fitting given its almost celestial glow.

In metaphysical traditions, selenite is considered a powerfully positive stone, embodying the gentle yet potent energy of lunar light. Placed in any room, it is believed to cleanse the space; held in the hand, it is said to offer healing benefits. Just be sure to keep it away from any werewolf friends, as Halloween is near and it might have unintended consequences.
