Raccoons (also known as "trash pandas") are smaller relatives of bears. They are native to North and South America, but can also be found in parts of Asia and Europe. Raccoons are highly adaptable to various environments and can live just as happily in a hollow tree as in an abandoned car.

Their hands resemble human hands. They have five fingers and use them to collect food, open shells, doors, or even trash cans.

Fun fact: raccoons often dip their hands in water before eating whatever they come across. I (the guy writing this) always wake up to a water bowl that’s clearly been visited by these furry little bandits. I used to think they just preferred wet food over dry, but it turns out I was wrong. It's actually because they have an extremely sensitive sense of touch, and water heightens that sensitivity even more.

Think of it like humans washing their hands before a meal. By feeling the food, they get a better understanding of what they’re about to eat.

So not only are raccoons extremely cute, but they also have table manners. Who would have thought?
