These beautiful quartz crystals may have a somewhat strange name considering the shimmer inclusions locked within inspire a somewhat more majestic name. You may think “are these quartz grown by a gas pump or something?” We kinda did until we started to learn more about them. Petroleum Quartz is a type of quartz that contains trapped fluid (often times water and petroleum) inclusions, often trapped for millions of years. It’s also known as Golden Enhydro Petroleum Quartz and is a unique stone highly sought after by crystal enthusiasts because of the inclusions. Enhydro translates from Greek as water within. Some believe that Mother Earth herself planted important messages in these quartz crystals for selected souls to unlock in the "New Age". That might be a bit far out but we really dig the sentiment. Not only is it gorgeous and shrouded in mystery, it has UV reactive petroleum oil inclusions that can be seen under black light (hints the name) .They are extremely interesting crystal specimens even if the name petroleum quartz is a bit mundane
