Rubies are usually cut, polished, and turned into something fancy. These haven't gotten that far, and we kind of like them better this way. Each vial contains natural ruby crystals, giving you a look at the mineral before someone turns it into an engagement ring.
Ruby is the red variety of the mineral corundum, the same mineral family as sapphire. Its red color comes primarily from trace amounts of chromium, and with a hardness of 9 on the Mohs scale, it's one of the hardest naturally occurring minerals on Earth, second only to diamond.
Basically, it's a tiny vial of raw gemstones that took millions of years to form and looks pretty great sitting on a shelf
