The blesbok or blesbuck is an antelope endemic to South Africa. It has a distinctive white face and forehead which inspired the name, because bles is the Afrikaans word for a blaze such as one might see on the forehead of a horse. They are gregarious animals that form herds of females with young and young rams - also bachelor herds and then territorial rams. The rams will fight aggressively during mating season to procure some females in their territory. If your name started with "blaze" you'd feel compelled to prove your dominance too.
Ethical sourcing is our number one priority. All of our taxidermy, skulls, bones, sealife and other natural science specimens have met our rigorous standards. See our "about us" section for more information or contact us with specific question.
All skulls vary in slightly size and shape. You will receive a high quality specimen of the selected item but not the exact one pictured.
