This replica 18th Century Diptych Sundial Compass is quite fascinating and measures 5" long, 2.5" wide, and 4.25" tall.

A fully functional piece, it features a brass sundial and compass housed in a folding case made from solid mahogany. The compass card is vibrantly colored for added visual appeal.

Modeled after an 18th-century German diptych travel sundial, this design includes two time scales and a classic wood-and-brass build. When opened to a 90º angle, a stretched rope casts a shadow across the dial to indicate the hour—just like the originals once used to set mechanical watches.
