Honestly, we were already sold on this moth by name alone, but after digging a little deeper, we realized we were more than just sold. We were in love with it. The White Witch Moth is a real wonder of the insect world. It amazes both scientists and nature fans with its ghostly beauty and huge size. Found in the rainforests of Central and South America, this night flyer has one of the biggest wingspans around, reaching up to 14 inches wide.
Its wings are covered in cool patterns of white, gray, and brown that look like marbled stone. These designs help it blend right into tree bark so it can hide from predators. The long, graceful wings and perfectly balanced patterns give it a magical, almost mythical vibe.
In many parts of Central and South America, the White Witch Moth has a spot in local stories and legends. Sometimes it’s called Mariposa del Diablo, or “Devil’s Butterfly,” because of its spooky look and nighttime habits. How can you not love anything named “Devil’s Butterfly”?
It’s an amazing insect and we’re really excited to have it back in stock.
All insects and butterflies vary slightly in size and shape. You will receive a high quality specimen of the selected item but not the exact one pictured.
