This amazingly gorgeous butterfly is one you just have to see to believe. The upper surface of the wings is greenish-white, with a mother-of-pearl sheen which is how it gets it's name. When seen in flight the butterfly is stunningly beautiful, with flashes of pink, purple, yellow and green reflecting back as the angle of the wings changes in relation to the sunlight. This is a large butterfly with a wingspan of about 100mm which means there is a lot of beauty to take in. Much like it's blue morpho friend, this is one butterfly that pictures can't do justice for.
