So you’ve learned the basics. Good. You’ve proven yourself. Now let’s give the next one a tiny top hat and some personality.

The Advanced Rat Taxidermy Workshop is exactly what it sounds like: less time on fundamentals, more time on creative posing and character. With over 35 years of experience, your instructor will have your rat pre-skinned and ready when you arrive, giving you more time to build a scene and turn your specimen into something with a story. 

We’ll provide a selection of props—miniature furniture, tiny vehicles, and assorted trinkets—but you’re encouraged to bring your own. Doll-sized clothing, personal mementos, craft store finds—whatever vision you’ve been quietly developing since the beginner class.

What you'll work on:
Posing and wire armature for dynamic, expressive mounts
Facial positioning and expression
Costuming, propping, and building a scene around your specimen
Finishing details that make people ask "wait, did you make that?"

Important Details:
This is an advanced class. Prior completion of our DIY Rat Taxidermy class is required.
Held at 766 Valencia St., San Francisco (Paxton Gate Activity Room)
Pre-registration required — materials are prepared per student and space is very limited
All attendees must be 18 or older
Please arrive promptly at 8am
Bring lunch and snacks — you'll want them
Cancellations must be made at least 72 hours in advance and will be converted to store credit or transferred to a future class. No-shows and late cancellations are non-refundable.
