Discovered in Patagonia

Cretaceous period

Ok, come on. How can anyone not think these are cool? They are literally fossilized dinosaur eggshell fragments! If, for some reason, you’re among those not in the ‘these are awesome’ camp, let us explain why these textured fragments are a must-have in any collection.

Fossilized dinosaur eggshells are like time capsules from millions of years ago, giving us clues about how dinosaurs lived, nested, and what their world was like. These ancient shells, preserved through mineralization, help scientists determine which dinosaurs laid them, how their babies developed, and their connection to modern birds.

Dinosaur eggs fossilize through permineralization, a process where minerals gradually replace the original material over millions of years. This happens when an egg is quickly buried by sediment, preventing decay. Over time, mineral-rich water seeps in, hardening the shell as layers of sediment build up. The texture, thickness, and microscopic details of these eggshells reveal valuable information about their environment. Sometimes, if we’re lucky, scientists even find fossilized embryos inside, offering a rare peek at prehistoric life before it hatched.

All minerals and fossils vary slightly in size and shape. You will receive a high-quality specimen of the selected item, but not the exact one pictured. All minerals, gems, stones, and fossils are guaranteed to be top quality and sourced from ethical vendors around the world.

All orders ship same or next business day with exception to oversized items. Those items will be identified in the description (Items such as large taxidermy, skulls or exceedingly heavy minerals).

If the subtotal of your order is over $98 the shipping is free (the discount is applied automatically to the cart at checkout)
