The color pairing of celestial blue, deep azul, and stark black makes these palmstones truly special. Blue opal is still an opal, but it is not what we usually think of when the gemstone comes to mind. Unlike some opals that show strong rainbow flashes, called play of color, most blue opals have a soft, milky or translucent blue glow. While it does not fit the mold of what we typically imagine when we think of opal, the subtle blue glow and slightly smoky qualities are in a league of their own.
