You may be looking at this and thinking, “What a cool underwater plant,” but in reality, the black sea whip is actually part of the black coral group. However, in the wild, they aren’t always black to the naked eye—just their internal skeleton is. You can find these wispy corals in marine environments, particularly in the Caribbean Sea and western Atlantic Ocean. Despite the name "black coral," they're more closely related to sea anemones and jellyfish than to hard corals. So really, they’re a contradiction in both appearance and classification in a lot of ways. Either way, they make for an excellent piece to add to your aquatic collection of curios.

All orders ship same or next business day with exception to oversized items. Those items will be identified in the description (Items such as large taxidermy, skulls or exceedingly heavy minerals).

If the subtotal of your order is over $98 the shipping is free (the discount is applied automatically to the cart at checkout)

If there is an issue with your order or something arrives damaged, we will refund or replace the item.

Oversized items are only available for pick-up or if you arrange the shipping yourself. This will be indicated in the item description. However, we do have a very reliable and affordable option for shipping.
