Sometimes we acquire old antique medical specimens that aren’t in the best shape. Whether it’s bits of old glue, scuffs, or just the wear and tear of time, these specimens have the look of a teaching aid that has been in the classroom for years. Sure, they may not be perfect, but they are still really cool.
To us, it adds character and just shows how much these were used to educate generations of medical professionals, and that, to us, is worth the imperfections.
About the Human Hand
The human hand is a highly intricate structure composed of 27 bones, including the carpals, metacarpals, and phalanges. These bones, along with joints, ligaments, and tendons, allow for remarkable dexterity, precision, and strength. The hand enables a wide range of movements, from gripping and lifting to fine motor tasks like writing or manipulating tools. This articulated model demonstrates the natural alignment and connections of the bones, providing a clear view of how the hand’s structure supports both function and versatility.
Human Bone Laws & Information:
In short, it is perfectly legal to possess and sell human bones in the United States. There are a few exceptions to this: a few states have banned import and export, and of course, any archaeological resources protected by the Native American Graves Protection and Repatriation Act.

The Paxton Gate cannot ship any real human bones to the following states: Georgia, Tennessee, and Louisiana.
