The Arapawa sheep is the rugged adventurer of the sheep world. Originally from New Zealand, these sheep live on small, rocky islands where the terrain is anything but easy. They have a sturdy build and thick coats that keep them warm through wind, rain, and whatever else the island throws at them. Basically, they are sheep built for survival and looking a little scruffy while doing it.

Arapawa sheep are known for their impressive horns. Males have large, curling horns that make them look like they just wandered off the set of a fantasy movie. They are strong and agile, able to climb steep slopes and navigate rocky landscapes that would leave other sheep grumbling in frustration. They also graze on whatever greenery they can find, from grass to shrubs, turning even a tough patch of land into a decent salad bar.

These sheep are tough but also surprisingly social. They move in small groups, keeping an eye on each other while exploring the island. They may not be sprinting across the plains like a blackbuck or leaping like an impala, but in the world of sheep, they are clever, resilient, and always ready for a challenge. Watching them navigate their rocky home makes it clear that the Arapawa is the ultimate sheep survivalist, combining brains, brawn, and a healthy dose of scruffy charm.
