Urania leilus, the green-banded urania, is a day-flying moth of the Uraniidae family. Diurnally active, they enjoy basking in the sun alongside a potpourri of tropical butterflies. It is found in tropical South America east of the Andes, including Suriname, French Guiana, east Colombia, Venezuela, east Ecuador, Brazil, north Bolivia, east Peru, and Trinidad. Lots of colorful friends to choose from in those locations. Could it be possible that the Urania leilus is actually a social butterfly in disguise?
Ethical sourcing is our number one priority. All of our taxidermy, skulls, bones, sealife and other natural science specimens have met our rigorous standards. See our "about us" section for more information or contact us with specific question.
All insects and Butterflies vary slightly in size and shape. You will receive a high quality specimen of the selected item but not the exact one pictured.
