However, after Athena realized that her skills were no match for the young Arachne, she shredded Arachne's beautiful tapestry into pieces and turned her into a spider so that she and her descendants would weave for all of eternity.

This Arachne amulet's abdomen is set with a radiant orb of labradorite, which represents the pieces of Arachne's beautiful tapestry shredded by Athena.
