A meticulously hand illustrated 100% silk twill scarf square featuring original illustrations by Morgaine Faye. The work is titled ‘Tragedy of the Commons’ and is a culmination of environmental anxieties and ecological catastrophes as absorbed and interpreted by the artist. This work is a reflection on the idea that the world as we know it will never be the same, each moment is fleeting, and danger is just around the corner.
In some panels, the impending change happens rapidly, as a brushfire, and in others, more slowly, as a drought, or loss of habitat. Each point of the compass rose reaches a corner in turmoil. A disaster can be viewed at any angle and in every fold.
