Blue aventurine is a member of the quartz crystal family which, as we know, is one of the most abundant crystals on Earth. This stone is a form of silicon dioxide, and derives its color from copper that becomes crystallized when the compound occurs in large masses.

Most of the blue aventurine on the market today will have been derived from various mines across Brazil. There are also large deposits of blue aventurine in Russia and India.

It’s important to note that blue aventurine is a 100% natural stone, and occurs beneath the Earth due to the elements. There is no human influence in the creation of this blue hue, which can’t be said about a number of other blue stones on the market.
