I’ve developed a process to preserve real spiders so they don’t need to be encased in resin, or kept in alcohol or other preserving liquids. This process also allows me to manipulate their bodies into cool positions that makes them look natural and alive. Spiders have soft abdomens that almost always deflate after they die, which is why most people encase them in resin to preserve them. Because I don’t have to encase spiders in resin to preserve them, my process is very unique, and very cool. My process is involved requiring multiple steps, and the work is intricate which is time consuming, but I think I’ve been successful with it, and it’s definitely worth it because you won’t find any other jewelry out there like mine.

All the Black Window Spiders that I use in my jewelry are real, and are caught by me, which definitely has an element of danger. I live on a farm in a very hot climate in the Sonoran desert. We have a huge sustainable variety of insect and spider species year round, and I always protect all spider egg sacs until they have hatched, ensuring that the species population doesn’t diminish or expire. Sometimes a day in the life for me would be considered a little “out there” for many people. What I consider amazingly lucky, finding creepy crawly critters in all kinds of situations on a farm in the Sonoran desert, is probably most mainstream people’s nightmare, but hopefully they also think it’s cool.

All orders ship same or next business day with exception to oversized items. Those items will be identified in the description (Items such as large taxidermy, skulls or exceedingly heavy minerals).
