Back by popular demand, our brand new Paxton Gate coloring book volume 2 is now available! We had such an overwhelming response to the first one that we immediately started work on the second. Coloring is a great way to unwind and give your brain a mental vacation. According to clinical psychologist Scott M. Bea, PsyD, it has everything to do with refocusing our attention. “Adult coloring requires modest attention focused outside of self-awareness, Dr. Bea says. “It’s a simple activity that takes us outside ourselves in the same way, cutting the lawn, knitting or taking a Sunday drive can all be relaxing.” It takes attention away from ourselves, relaxes the brain and low stakes make it pleasurable. So go ahead and color outside of the lines. Coloring isn’t predictable or prescriptive. It can be as neat or as messy as you want which is the beautiful thing about it. Feel like you have created a masterpiece or just want to share your coloring endeavors? We’d love to see them! Feel free to tag us on social media with your completed piece and let us know if your brain feels more relaxed. That’s the goal here.
This one is illustrated by Theresa Granucci, one of our amazing store employees. Theresa describes herself as “born and raised in San Francisco, enjoys watching pro wrestling and drinking cold water… and illustrating."
